We might have lost the match in the records, but the the fans of chennai super kings will consider our team winners in all respects. Great performace by Rajasthan Royals, a few basic mistakes from our side but overall spectacular match that wrote history!
Dhoni - great captaincy! You let the world know that you are the best captain India have seen so far !
Tata Preity..Tata Yuvi…See you next time….This is chennai kings mind it !
Boy what a game it was !
Punjabs were wapped up for 113 and literally crushed to nothing ! While the TV commentators proclaimed before the match that the “Yuvi” protection is going to guide them through the match, it seems like there was a split in the ozone layer and UV protection didn’t work at all.
Bowlers Ntini and Morkel did a fantastic job and Parthiv Patel with Suresh Raina were excellent with the bat.
Another interesting thing was Yuvraj’s Singhs emotional outbursts…before the match, Yuvraj was seen composed and over confident that they will win the game. But soon after his team was crushed to 113, he was seen frustrated and rude! While the Chennai Super Kings captain M S Dhoni was seen composed and cool throughout the tournament. It was a pity to see Yuvraj frustrated and flat on face at the end of match, while MSD was all smiles. It’s a great example where emotional stability overruled instability and insecurity.
So here we are, the ye for you…winning the semi finals and crushing the Punjabs, once again proving that there is only one king - The Chennai Super Kings!
Did you see that? Man, this is what we call “cricket”, and these are the gentlemen. We’ve seen people cry, slap, fight, swear, and these guys should learn from what Kumara Sangakkara did here today at the Wankhade stadium in the semifinals between Punjab Kings X1 and The Chennai Super Kings.
Here’s what happened (For those who missed). On Goni’s ball, Sangakkara had a little edge on the bat and keeper Parthiv Patel caught it. There was a shout by Goni but the umpire not sure, did not make a move. And to everyone’s surprise, Sangakkara just walked off, as he was sure about the knick. A replay on the TV confirmed that Sangakkara was right in his decision.
To this gesture, Sangakkara has been appreciated by all cricketers. This is something to learn for the “boys”.
Chennaisuperkings have made it to the semi finals of the IPL - and in style !
A great match display with the deccan chargers ensured our entry to the semi finals and this was no ordinary game. The chennai super kings had all the basics right, from the very first over of their bowling spell. Then went on to prove they are not bad with the bat either. Deccan chargers on the other hand failed miserably in playing as a team and there were errors here and there, very evident.
Chennai super kings had ot of errors as well, and more surprisingly they were the ones they’ve been carrying from day one. Poor show by fleming, not a great batting by parthiv patel and just okay performance with the ball. Just like what Dhoni said earlier, there’s quite a lot they have to improve in the balling side. Dhoni too is playing the same shots now and then proving that if any bowler study him, they can easily beat him down.
Anyway, now we are in to the semi finals, we have a higher chance to win the cup. Wait and watch what happens.
We lost the match to Royal challengers, and what a shame it is ! Royal challengers did an excellent job fighting until the last breath. But the way chennai super kings lost it was dramatic!
In fact right from the start of the game, the chennai super kings had no luck. If I recall right, there were lot of appeals in todays match and there was a nice edge not given out by the umpire. In fact a few close attempts not recognized. And who can forget fleming fumbling with an easy catch? Today was not clearly our day. I think the team is losing momentum again.
Dhoni, and his team has to gear up and take things seriously or else, it is going to be a tough ride ahead.
After the win against Kolkatta Knight Riders, seems like the Chennai Super Kings are back in momentum and in full force. Although we won by the Duckworth-Lewis method, we deserved it completely!
And with Ntinis Hat trick, looks like the Chennai team is rocking! This is the second hat trick from us in the IPL matches. Now, our bowlers are also back in foam. Patel in opening position is doing good start as well. Hope he keeps the momentum going.
Now ChennaiSuperKings is in the third place and with the next few matches, we are gonna sizzle the grounds!
As I told, there will only be one king and that’s the Chennai Super Kings
The prayer and support of 6 crore tamilians, the accurate bowling of Balaji and batting extravaganza by Badrinath and Dhoni, Punjab Kings were crushed down to pieces yesterday !
Yuvraj and Preity seemed to be worried and heartbroken after the loss, that they didn’t even bother to face the cameras. Yuvraj had a bitter face on the cameras.
Balaji had a wonderful spell, with a hat trick and two other wickets, what a game. He thanked all the supporters who helped him come back after the back injury and a not so good two years. The local chennai boy found grace in his homeland.
Chennai Super Kings gained the much needed momentum after yesterdays match and is now back on a winning spree. Watch out jujubees !
Either the Punjab Kings or the Super Kings ! Today as both the teams are battling for glory, the attention is on Sreesanth, Shaun Marsh and Yuvraj. Sreesanth is now not sure of his image. Get aggressive and people will call him a fake. Be mild and people will say that he’s got it right from bhajji. But the kerala boy is unpredictable and can prove fatal sometimes. We’ll be watching out for him. Shaun and Yuvi too are strong guys. But there is only going to be one king at the last.
Dhoni, Patel, Raina and the others in the “yellow willow team” is going to make it hard for the mohali team.
Again, there is only going to be one king in the end. Let’s see who’s it gonna be.
We have once again proved it. We are the ONLY team out of the eight, who are unbeatable and unstoppable. Dhoni and his mighty team has once again proved that Chennai Super Kings Rocks !
There were some rumors that we had a weak bowling side. True we ate that and took it up with you. The “bangalore guys” thought if they scored with the bat, they’d win us. We proved them wrong. We let them do whatever they could and they did a good show, but it was no match for our bowling league. We cracked them all down. So now you know, that we have an excellent bowling side too.
Psst……Where is the kolkatta guys? Seen them around? Heard Shahrukh Khan has not appeared in public post their pathetic losing with the super kings. Chill Shahrukh, it’s all in the game !
Bhajji sure looks like an insecure, emotional, immature s%&$er ! First it was Symmonds and the world stood with him. But with yesterday’s episode at the end of the IPL match between Punjab X1 and Mumbai Indians, where Bhajji’s team miserably failed, and bhajji slapped Sreesanth, harbhajan Singh sure looks like the bad boy of Indian cricket. Rumors say that at the end of the match, after Punjab X1 won the game, Sreesanth went up to Bhaji and told him “Bad luck!”. Harbhajan was already pissed off with losing the game, immediately slapped Sreesanth on the face. And the world only say Sreesanth crying out there like a kid.
Reports also say that Bhajji immediately went to the dressing room and apologized for his behaviour. And both of them are saying that it’s a brotherly relation between both of them. Sreesanth says Bhajji is his elder brother and Harbhajan says Sreesanth is his younger brother. WTF? These guys sure are excited and emotionally unstable. Heck, they should go for anger management classes! But, for the viewers it’s more a reality show with all this drama.

UPDATE to the Sreesanth - Harbhajan controversy —————————————-
Sreesanth has given an interview over phone to a regional news channel (Asianet) where he says about the incident as unfortunate and unacceptable. Here is an english transalation of Sreesanth’s telephone conversation in Malayalam.
“It was not a slap as the media is speaking of….I went to give shake hand to him as normal practice..as we won the match. And suddenly he behaved in such a way like an aggressive wrestling or push kind of…not exactly slap ….well he shouldn’t have done it. But I think he was in a bad situation as they failed three consecutive matches and he was the captain…I can understand that…anyway I have forgiven him, he shouldn’t have done it, but we need to play more matches together in the Indian team..so I’ve forgiven him…”
Sreesanth is one cricketer who knows how to make sure he gets noticed among the crowd. Originally being from Kerala, he’s popularly known for his hardworking skills and focus towards cricket. His schoolyear coach once told in the interview that he was unlike other kids and always was focused on “achievements” and he would go any extreme to get that done.
On the cricket field, Sreesanth is known more for his emotional outbursts, killer instincts and “histrionics”. He once danced (some won’t accept it as dance) in the field, once swiveled his bat and did an “almost” dance infront of the bowler after hitting a six, have been agitated when batsman hits a boundary to him, and now, entered into a row with his own team mate Bhajji.
Despite his good cricketing skills Sreesanth is more recalled for his dances and histrionics and is often referred to as the “small boy” in the team.
Take the Poll - Should Harbhajan be banned from Cricket or not?

UPDATE to the Sreesanth - Harbhajan controversy April 29th —————————————-
Bhajji have been banned from playing the IPL now. It is left to the BCCI to decide whether he should be receiving any infractions at the International games.
Now, the whole Bhajji saga raises more questions than answers. Harbhajan Singh was a “notorious guy” from start. He was always aggressive on the field and off.
- He had problems with Ricky Ponting on the field a couple of times. He was seen showing cheap aggressive behavior to him more than one time on the ground.
- Bhajji was also found to be getting into quick brawls with hotel waiters and press guys. Bhajji says that he was provoked at the situations, but clearly this is seen as a one-man’s problem, especially with Bhajji.
- We all saw in Australia what happened with the Symmonds saga. Bhajji went into an argument with the aussie cricketer and later alleged that he abused him racially.
This is something that’s backfiring on Bhajji now.
People who stood by him (like Sachin) during the hard times especially at the Aussie tour, have backed out on the Sreesanth issue. Now, this means that Bhajji clearly has a point to make himself. May be, he might want to take lessons to control his emotions and become a more refined man. Continuing this kind of aggression sure looks childish and is only worth “gully cricket”, not an international match.
Now, the question everyone is asking is - “Were we right in standing by Bhajji during the Symmonds issue? Would have Bhajji really assaulted the Aussies and provoked them? “
With the current “trends” and looking at Harbhajan’s history - we prefer to believe that Bhajji could have been always wrong - we did a mistake standing by him against the Aussies.
