Now, all the kids have left the show. Kolkatta Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Royal challengers bangalore and Deccan Chargers can dream of the IPL trophy now.
Chennai super kings is witnessing another major re shuffle. Remember, with Hayden, we had a great pair of openers and we romped the scene. Things changed while they left and we are yet to recover from the void.
Parthiv patel and fleming did a Okay job, in setting up partnerships, but they were clearly not firing like the Punjab team or the Rajasthan Royals. We currently have the power to attack but is not consistent and miss the tooth many times.
Now the big change. Steven Fleming is leaving back home and we have a “mystery man” replacing us.
Chennai Super Kings will feature a new pair of openers from the IPL semi final onwards. This is great news for the chennai super kings fans. If we can replace the opening pair with someone who will fire his way to glory, we will have a winning team.
Who will it be? Officials will resolve the mystery only hours before the match. We’ll have to wait and see who it is.
Any guesses?

We know we are the best. We have the momentum and the charge ! But something is not happening for us. What could it be? Is it the batting line up? Or the bowling failure? Or is it over hyped victories?
Dhoni and the team need to play a bit more well meeting the crowds expectations. They are not doing that now especially in the last two-three games. Somewhere down the line, they miss the consistency.
Now this question is open to readers.
What do you think is needed in the Chennai Super Kings team to make them consistent in winning?

After the pathetic third loss in a row, chennai super kings fans are disheartened and lost. This was evident from the fact that viewers went back without the match completing during the Deccan chargers fight. Clearly, the team has lost it’s momentum and is struggling hard for a win now. The charm is lost.
There are a few glaring reasons for the failure.
- Absence of Mathew Hayden and Mike Hussey
Mathew Hayden and Mike Hussey have left to Australia for some undisclosed reason. Some say they went back for some match with West Indies, some say they only had a contract for the first four matches. Anyhow, the IPL guys have not talked much about it and wants to brush it under the carpet. When they were bought with big money, there was a huge hype, but when they left, nobody even knew! What a joke?
- The opening batsmen not firing
Now, that Hayden and Hussey has left, the opening batsmen like Patel, is not firing and gaining the momentum. In twenty twenty cricket it’s very important that the first order batsmen fire away and get a good score in less time, so that the middle order can take it from there. But in the last few matches the first order is a failure and whenever there are few quick wickets in the first few overs, it’s difficult to get the momentum back.
- Not so great bowlers
Goni is good, and Joginder sharma is good, if not consistent. But the rest are waste. Ntini gets the best spanking from others, he’s made it a habit now. And morkel is as good as a tennis ball throwing machine. No variation, no clever bowling at all. We are a weak side in bowling, and everyone knows that.
If Chennai Super Kings have to win, their first top order batsmen have to do some real firing and learn to play twenty twenty cricket. Otherwise, it’s clear that we are nose diving to loss.
