Chennaisuperkings Fans disappointed

After the pathetic third loss in a row, chennai super kings fans are disheartened and lost. This was evident from the fact that viewers went back without the match completing during the Deccan chargers fight. Clearly, the team has lost it’s momentum and is struggling hard for a win now. The charm is lost.

There are a few glaring reasons for the failure.

- Absence of Mathew Hayden and Mike Hussey
Mathew Hayden and Mike Hussey have left to Australia for some undisclosed reason. Some say they went back for some match with West Indies, some say they only had a contract for the first four matches. Anyhow, the IPL guys have not talked much about it and wants to brush it under the carpet. When they were bought with big money, there was a huge hype, but when they left, nobody even knew! What a joke?

- The opening batsmen not firing
Now, that Hayden and Hussey has left, the opening batsmen like Patel, is not firing and gaining the momentum. In twenty twenty cricket it’s very important that the first order batsmen fire away and get a good score in less time, so that the middle order can take it from there. But in the last few matches the first order is a failure and whenever there are few quick wickets in the first few overs, it’s difficult to get the momentum back.

- Not so great bowlers
Goni is good, and Joginder sharma is good, if not consistent. But the rest are waste. Ntini gets the best spanking from others, he’s made it a habit now. And morkel is as good as a tennis ball throwing machine. No variation, no clever bowling at all. We are a weak side in bowling, and everyone knows that.

If Chennai Super Kings have to win, their first top order batsmen have to do some real firing and learn to play twenty twenty cricket. Otherwise, it’s clear that we are nose diving to loss.

  • Are you serious when you said.. “nobody even knew about Hayden and Hussey left”.. When the auction took place, all the team owners knew that the australian players were not expected to participate in any of the IPL matches.. But since the Pakistan series was cancelled, they were able to play four matches… Even before their arrival, everybody knew Hayden, Hussey and Oram would be available only for four matches..

  • I too was surprised to see the sudden change in the team…i thought they are there till the end. I didn not know anything about the australian players going after half the way..this is not fair.

The departure of the Aussies has brought Chennai to ground zero. Though the turn around in the King’s fortunes were not unprecedented, it is indeed flabbergasting and heart breaking to see them come crashing down. It was quite blatant even during the auction that foreign players (unless retired) would come with strings attached. But since hayden and Hussey had come to represent the pedestals of the CSKs, the decimation of their winning streak, has come as no surprise. What indeed could be described as a bolt from the blue is the fact is that Dhoni’s boys seem to be panicking and resorting to desperate measures. The breaksown in discipline is only too obvious. But the semi finals are well within our reach and a few more encore’s from the Kings could see us through unscathed, provided of course that Lady Luck smiles on us too. GO CHENNAI !

  • For every rise there is a fall and thats exactly what is happened to Chennai Kings.I still believe that Chenai Superkings rules. They are the best.Yes the departure of the Aussies has definately made an impact. But as long as they believe in themseleves and play with the spirit of the game they will definately be back.Three cheers to the Super Kings HIP HIP HURRAY,HIP HIP HURRAY,HIP HIP HURRAY.
An advice to Chennai Super Kings irrespective of what ever happens do not take Bhajji and Sreesanth in your team :)

  • hai superkings
today u rocks .all the best guys……………..

  • yathu

ya, but the reason for failier is bad batting order ,, why cant u take flaming to 2ed or 3ed down (bcoz he can play well for spin) ? and put morkel to the opening , he’s a big hitter , if you are not going to change this order mean you are going to loose the match

  • loganathan

Ashraful ,one of the best hitters in any format of the game especially T20 FORMAT,should be brought by chennai super kings in the next auction
